SANDMEYER SERVES

Cathedral Kitchen – Saturday, September 30, 2017

Sandmeyer Steel Company and Sandmeyer Serves employees and family members took time out of their Saturday to volunteer on September 30, 2017, when they traveled to Cathedral Soup Kitchen in Camden, New Jersey.

While at Cathedral Soup Kitchen, 12 volunteers spent their time bagging food for the homeless and less fortunate, then plating, serving, and cleaning up the mid-day meal.  Over 125 people were given a meal of fish sticks, french fries, cole slaw, and a drink.

In combination with their volunteering, Sandmeyer Steel Company employees also had a donation drive, providing napkins, breakfast bars, juice boxes, peanut butter, jelly, shampoo, and deodorant as well as white socks for men, women and children and other necessities, which were previously dropped off.

Sandmeyer Serves was derived directly from the Sandmeyer Steel Company Vision Statement to achieve the goal of “making significant contributions to the communities in which we work and live.”
