On August 8, the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses-Greater Philadelphia team from Community College of Philadelphia attended the very first Baltimore Community College GS10KSB graduation in Baltimore. In addition, a number of their current scholars and some alums traveled to Baltimore to experience this awe-inspiring event.
Over 60 business owners graduated at the North Stage Theater. The key speakers were former New York two-term Mayor Michael Bloomberg, mega investor Warren Buffet and Lloyd Blankfein, chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs.
On their way home, the Philadelphia Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses Team, plus our partner, Marla Hamilton, from Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation and a member of the Board of Directors at the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, ran into Mayor Bloomberg at the Baltimore Train Station. We got the opportunity to chat with him and we were also able to get some pictures taken with him.
The Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses Program drives business growth, increases job creation and drives the business owner to work on their business and not in their business. This
no-cost educational program for small business owners is designed by Babson College and is available at 14 community colleges across the USA.
Within the entire Philadelphia region, Community College of Philadelphia (CCP) provides the Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses program to qualified business owners located from Harrisburg, PA to Philadelphia to Southern New Jersey and to the State of Delaware.
To qualify;
-Owner or co-owner of the business
-Business must be operation for at least two years
-Business revenues of at least $150,000 in the most recent fiscal year
-Minimum of 4 employees, including the owner
