JUNE IS REENTRY AWARENESS MONTH IN PHILADELPHIA

Wed., May 23, 2018 City of Philadelphia

Meet Leslie.

Leslie joined Baker’s program in the spring of 2017.  She was in a halfway house and determined to stay clean and sober after having cycled through the system a few times.

Bright and hard-working, Leslie has thrived in Baker’s Job Readiness program.  When asked what is different about Baker’s program, Leslie says, “The groups here are on a much more personal/individual level but at the same time we do these classes as a group of co-workers growing together as a community.”  The workshops that had the most impact on Leslie were goal-setting: “I learned the difference between short and long-term goals and how to break them down into steps”, and The Four Agreements: “It’s something I try to practice every day”.

Baker Industries is celebrating Leslie and others in its Job Readiness program.  Please join them on June 8th to view their photographs, read their poetry, and witness their journey with The Wilma Theater’s Portable Studio.
