Sandmeyer Steel Company Sandmeyer Serves

Sat., August 12, 2017 City of Philadelphia

Sandmeyer Steel Company and Sandmeyer Serves continued its mission to “Make significant contributions to the communities in which we work and live” in July when employees spent their Tuesday evening volunteering at Cradles to Crayons in Conshohocken, inspecting, cleaning, and scrubbing winter boots and shoes for children in need.

Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school, and at play.   Cradles to Crayons supplies these items free of charge by engaging and connecting with communities that have need.

In combination with the School Supply Donation Drive which Sandmeyer Steel Company held at its 65th Anniversary celebration in June, the volunteers were also able to donate over 12 boxes of school supplies to Cradles to Crayons to be used for the upcoming school year.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR SANDMEYER SERVES?

  • In September, donations collected for and a volunteer Saturday at Cathedral Kitchen in Camden, New Jersey.
  • In October, a volunteer Bingo night at the Delaware Valley Veterans Home.
  • In November, a “One Warm Coat” coat drive.
