We all know the basic reasons to volunteer: Giving back, lending a hand, doing the right thing.
But sometimes we hesitate. We send a sponsorship check instead. We send a donation instead. We think, “Oh, next time. I’m too busy.”
Here’s another good reason to volunteer: When you do you immediately become an integral part of the community.
Volunteering is well-suited to networking; you network naturally while you are serving a common goal. Nothing can strengthen your role in the community more than learning with other business owners what it takes to put on a successful event or project: being a part of the planning, the challenges, the late hours, and the ultimate success of knowing that you all did this together. This camaraderie can only be gained by volunteering.
