Many small and mid size business owners have not considered their obligation under ERISA, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. ERISA is a U.S. tax and labor law that governs both employee benefits and retirement plans. All size employers are resposible for mantaining proper plan documents in accordance with the law. ERISA is enforced by both the DOL, and IRS. As a member of the chamber and a client of MBA, you recieve a compliance audit annually along with guidance and plan documents.
