Lara Flynn, a regional representative for Pennsylvania U.S. Sen. Robert P. Casey Jr. visited the offices of the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce June 15 for a productive discussion on business and other issues in the Greater Northeast Philadelphia region.

Lara met with GNPCC President Pam Henshall, Membership Director Teri Grumbrecht, Marketing Director Don Brennan, and Office Manager Stephanie Davis to learn of the needs of the Northeast business community as well as the feedback the GNPCC receives on issues like health care, a proposed border tax, and infrastructure spending.

Flynn also spoke about the Senator’s commitment to Northeast Philadelphia Airport, which received $803,293 in May from the Federal Aviation Administration.

“The Northeast Philadelphia Airport is vital to the region’s many transportation systems,” Casey said. “I’m pleased to see the Department of Transportation investing in Pennsylvania’s infrastructure and I am confident that this grant will help the Northeast Philadelphia Airport ensure a safer and more efficient operation.”

Among the ideas discussed at the meeting were scheduling an event at which Casey would be the keynote speaker, and a visit to Washington, D.C. with GNPCC members to see the Senator and participate in other activities.
